Volleyball Team has 1-1 Week

The women's volleyball team (13-11) went 1-1 last week in games against UAPB (4-10) and Texas State (18-6).

The Sugar Bears had a dominate 3-0 win in Pine Bluff against UAPB.  UAPB did not score more than 13 points in the three-set sweep Wednesday.  Taylor Hammonds came up big with 10 kills and Cristin Curl led the team with 13 digs.  The Sugar Bears had a .358 hitting percentage while UAPB had a .000 hitting percentage.

In the second game of the week, UCA had a disappointing 3-1 loss to Texas State in San Marcos, Texas.  Saturday's game was a reversal from the game at UAPB.  The Sugar Bears could only pull out a 27-25 win in the second set.  Scout Brooks led the team with 11 kills and Curl again led the team with 14 digs.

The team will play both games this week in Conway.  They play Texas A&M-Corpus Christi at the Farris Center at 7 p.m. today and  UTSA in the Prince Center on Saturday.
