String Quartet Performs Tonight
The St. Lawrence String Quartet will perform at 7:30 p.m. today in the Reynolds Performance Hall. No ticket is required.
The Canadian-based ensemble consists of faculty members from Stanford University, where the group has been housed as Ensemble in Residence since 1998. The New Yorker magazine has described their work as "remarkable not simply for the quality of their music making, exalted as it is, but for the joy they take in the act of connection."
Linda Hsu of the UCA Department of Music promises the quartet "will deliver a thrilling evening.”
The group will be performing works by Beethoven and Ravel. In addition to the classics, the quartet will premiere a piece that was written for them.
