There’s Magic on Campus Today
Prepare to be mystified.
Magicians Kevin and Cindy Spencer will cast their spell over Reynolds Performance Hall at 7:30 p.m. today when they present the Spencers Theatre of Illusion.
The production is part of UCA Public Appearances, a division of the College of Fine Arts and Communication.
The Spencers have been performing illusions internationally for more than a decade. They mix comedy, drama, suspense and romance into their magic show. According to their Web site, the illusions combine high-tech special effects with unique set designs. From floating in the air to chopping someone in half, they perform old-fashioned, mind-boggling illusions with some new twists.
The Spencers have been called “modern day Houdinis” by critics and have nabbed 20 national awards for their performances. They have been named Performing Arts Entertainers of the Year six times. Last year, they were named International Magicians of the Year, the profession's most prestigious award.
Students can pick up two free tickets at the Reynolds Box Office with a valid student I.D. Public tickets begin at $30.
