Softball Series Resumes Today

The three-game softball series scheduled for this weekend between the Bears and the Stephen F. Austin State University Lady Lumberjacks resumes today after being delayed by rain yesterday. 

The teams were scheduled for a doubleheader yesterday but heavy rain and storms in the area forced the cancelation of the game. Play begins today at noon. 

The Bears had a rough series with the Lady Lumberjacks last season in Nacogdoches, Texas. The Bears lost all three of those games. Coach David Kuhn said his team is going to try and change that this year. 

During today's game, the Bears are hosting their K’s for Cancer Fundraiser. People can pledge $1, $5 and $10 for every strikeout the Bears record during the series.

 All of the money collected will be donated to help local families dealing with cancer.  The bats and helmets used in the game will be auctioned as well. Donations can also be made by calling 501-450-3150.
