SGA Wants Your “Big Idea”
Got an idea for something that will make life better on campus? Here's a chance to make it happen.
The Student Government Association (SGA) is looking for a "big project" and has about $200,000 to pay for it. The money is from a surplus in the student activity fees SGA receives that has accumulated over the past several years. The surplus is large enough to finance several big projects.
"We thought about ways to use the reserve and wanted to get direct ideas," said Meghan Thompson, executive president of SGA.
SGA is asking everyone at UCA - students, faculty and staff - to develop a project, an event or program that will directly benefit every student here and submit the plan to SGA. The ideas will be reviewed by a committee that will make recommendations to SGA on which ones to pay for.
There are a few restrictions. It must take place on campus and be open to everyone. It must take place between February and December of next year. The cost can't exceed $50,000.
The deadline to submit your ideas is Jan. 14. SGA will vote on funding Jan. 31.
Here's the Web site SGA has set up for you to submit your ideas. You can also get an application at the SGA office in the Student Center.
“The sky is the limit," Thompson said. "Think big, be creative and bring those ideas to us."

Best title i've read in a while. the article is good too !
What about a pinkberry on Campus.
I think it would be great for us to get seating areas around campus with outdoor tables and chairs and even bench swings. We have such a beautiful campus, it would be great to sit and enjoy it without sitting on the ground!
I love to sit by the fountain, however it would be wonderful if there were more flowers (rose bushes) and possibly even some statues to make if feel more like a sanctuary.
