Police Report: New Hall Searched
Residents of New Hall were surprised a day before Spring Break with a security check monitored by the building's resident staff. A search of the rooms resulted in Judicial Board citations to several Honors College students for alcohol and drug violations, according to university police reports.
Charles Healy, 22, left a 1.75-liter bottle of Pinnacle Vodka in plain view on his desk. Courtney Walker, 20, left a part-empty bottle of Pinot Noir wine on her desk. Kaiho Ni, 22, left a six-pack box with four imported beers under his bed. Curtis Goolsby had a bottle of gin and a bottle of wine under his bed.
Two rooms had marijuana in them. Thomas Winters, 39, left his room with .24 ounces of marijuana stems and seeds in his desk drawer. Travis Terrell, 20, was given a citation after police found the floor of his room covered in marijuana stems and seeds.
The inspection came two days after Bears basketball player Chris Poellnitz was caught with marijuana in his room on the first floor of the residence hall.
