Police Report: April 17
The following information was taken from incident reports at UCAPD. Incident reports are filed daily by officers to document and describe each call they answer during their shifts. These reports are made available by university police after they are approved by a supervisor. That process takes a day or two, which delays our report a day or two. This is a report of incidents filed for April 17.
- Student Kiffiney Lard-Conway, 24, of Washington, reported that someone took a package from her doorstep at Caldwell apartments. The package contained a license plate with the Zeta Phi Beta sorority letters on it and a matching license plate holder.
- Student Bryce Vernon, 21, of Austin, Texas, reported that his car was hit while parked in the parking lot south of Farris Hall. The rear bumper and tail light on the passenger side were damaged.
- Student Johnnie Jones III, 21, of Forrest City, was issued a citation for drinking in public and was banned from campus about 8:35 p.m. Police were called to the parking lot west of the Farris Center because of a fight involving the Delta Sigma Theta fraternity. When officers arrived, they were pointed toward Jones, who was drinking from one Budweiser bottle and holding another. When officers approached Jones, he said "Oh man" and started walking backward. An officer grabbed Jones, who responded by yelling at the officer to let go of him and not to touch him. Another officer assisted and they escorted Jones to a patrol car. Jones yelled profanities and refused to cooperate. The group of people Jones was with surrounded the officers and made it difficult for them to speak with Jones. The officers placed Jones in the back of the car and drove him to the parking lot north of Estes Stadium where some people picked him up and left campus.
