Police Beat: April 8

The following information was taken from incident reports at UCAPD. Incident reports are filed daily by officers to document and describe each call they answer during their shifts. These reports are made available by university police after they are approved by a supervisor. That process takes a day or two, which delays our report a day or two. This is a report of incidents filed for April 8.

  • Student Stephanie Dunn, 21, and student Brittany Barnes, 20, were involved in a minor traffic accident while driving south on Donaghey Avenue. Dunn hit the rear bumper of Barnes' car near the intersection of Donaghey and Silver Springs Circle. Dunn told police she was looking at northbound traffic and didn't see Barnes stop in front of her. Police estimated damage to Dunn's car at $1,000. There was no visible damage to Barnes' car.
  • Nonstudent Christen Ragland, 25, was arrested about 1:30 a.m. and charged with DWI. Ragland was stopped by police at the intersection of College and Donaghey avenues.
