Brandon Collins – Staff Writer

Hello. I cover religious groups at The Fountain. I am a sociology major with a minor in journalism. I am a senior here at UCA, and I’m enthusiastic about this Web site. I think it is going to be the best school publication on any campus. Period. I was born in Little Rock and I’m an only child. I’m an avid gamer and enjoy spending time with family and friends. I am a broadcast journalism major at UCA and a general assignment reporter for The Fountain. I write stories about anything and everything. My job here is to go around campus finding stories that I think are important to you. Hi. I was born in the beautiful city of Hot Springs, Ark., and grew up there. I am a senior here at UCA. I am very excited to be a part of The Fountain. We have some wonderful people and great minds standing behind this publication. It’s sure to be awesome! I have been assigned (after putting my persuasion skills to good use) to cover fraternities!! Aprille Hanson – Staff Writer

I am a senior print journalism student at UCA. I will be graduating in May. I have worked on the UCA student newspaper, The Echo, since 2006. I have been a staff writer, assistant opinion editor, news editor, associate editor, editor for three semesters and I am currently the opinion editor at The Echo. I am an intern for the Little Rock-based magazine Inviting Arkansas. I have received honors from the Arkansas College Media Awards that include: First place in general column writing, first place in review writing, first place for sports feature writing, honorable mention for personality profiles, first place for general excellence for The Echo newspaper and Editor of the Year in 2008.
Will Hehemann – Staff Writer

I am a senior print journalism major and a general assignment reporter for The Fountain. I am originally from El Dorado, Ark., but I transferred to UCA for the Spring 2009 semester from a college in Massachusetts. Since starting at UCA, I have written for The Echo, our student newspaper, and am now the assistant campus life editor. However, I’m excited to write for this online publication. I love classic film. James Bond and Godzilla are my life-mentors.

Ben Keller – Staff Writer

I am a sports writer for The Fountain.  I am a junior and print journalism major. I have been writing since the Fall 2009 semester for The Echo and I’m also the assistant sports editor. My favorite sport is baseball and I am a die-hard Boston Red Sox fan. I also like winter sports, specifically skiing. I have been an avid skier for the past 17  years.

I am a junior here at UCA. I am a broadcast journalism major with a minor in history. I am a general assignment reporter for  The Fountain. Allyson McNabb – Staff Writer

I am a junior at UCA and an online journalism major. My beat is the Student Government Association. When I am not working on trying to graduate in a reasonable time, I am a dance teacher/assistant. After I graduate, I hope to work for a fine arts publication.

Kazuma Minegishi – Staff Writer

I am a junior at UCA majoring in broadcast journalism. I cover the international beat for The Fountain.  My favorite energy drink is Rockstar, not Redbull.  I love steak and beer. I’m from north Japan, where I lived for 18 years in the severe weather and conditions before I came to the U.S.  Now, I enjoy the American life and find many new things everyday.

Abbe Roussel – Staff Writer

I am a senior at UCA majoring in Mass Communication with a specialty in online journalism and a minor in sociology. My dream is to teach underprivileged children and to one day visit Africa. I hate rain boots, although I own two pair, and despite my greatest efforts, I cannot master the art of the hula hoop. I love frosted shredded wheat and the New York Yankees. All in all, that’s me.

Alan Sanders – Staff Writer

I am a general assignment writer for The Fountain. I study journalism and digital film at UCA. In preparation for a career in video-journalism, I am using The Fountain to simultaneously hone my reporting skills while providing a valued service to my community.

Amanda Smallwood – Staff Writer

With ten years of music background, I have always felt that my future would deal with music and, as a developing writer, I have retained my strong passion for entertainment.  Even with this passion, I have always loved detective work. I have wanted to be an FBI agent since I was a little girl so doing the police beat is my way to live out my dream. Maybe this will be the start of my career as an investigative reporter or the beginning stages of becoming an FBI agent.

Julian Spivey – Staff Writer

I am a sports and entertainment writer who has had sports articles published in such places as Consciousness Magazine, Driver Insider.com and deepfriedrice.com. I was the editor-in-chief of the now defunct online magazine, Sport Magazine, for two years. I’m currently the sports editor of UCA’s student newspaper, The Echo, a position I’ve held for five consecutive semesters. I also worked as entertainment editor for The Echo for three semesters. In 2008, I won honorable mention awards in Sports Column Writing and Sports Page Layout from the Arkansas College Media Association. Preston Tolliver – Staff Writer

I am a senior at UCA studying for a print journalism major. I have written for The Echo for three semesters and am currently the news editor for the publication. I, along with Amanda Smallwood, cover the police beat for The Fountain.

Paige Turner – Staff Writer

Hailing from Austin, Texas, standing at a staggering 5 feet 2 inches, I am a force to be reckoned with. Paige Turner is my actual name. Make a joke about it and I will not be pleased. My bite surpasses my bark and evokes fear in the hearts of journalists worldwide. Though I may be the youngest contributor, amateur is the last word that comes to mind when my words grace a story. Endowed by my name to be the greatest, I will guide you through the fog that is falseness and bring you to the pinnacle of truth.

Corey Womack – Editor

I am a senior Digital Filmmaking/ Broadcast Journalism major and an active member in UCA’s Honors College. I have worked on several student film projects, covered stories for Channel 6 productions, UCArts and Channel 6 News. I also have worked behind the camera on UCArts, Channel 6 News and Spotlight.  I have written articles featured in the Honors College publication, The Vino. I also worked in the inaugural group of students selected for the Honors College Summer Neptune Academy.
