Gone Fishin’
Just like you, we are on Spring Break.
We are scattering across the state and, of course, won't be posting any new stories until we all return March 29. So, we leave you with what we think were our 10 best stories for the first half of the semester. They are listed below. Enjoy.
Declaration of Principles - This was our first story. We're pretty sure nobody saw it. We were getting a couple of dozens hits in those early days.
Staff Gives UCA Administration a "C" - We thought this story might get us in trouble but few people noticed. It was the second story we published on our first day.
Business Building in Business - We like this story for several reasons. First of all, it was our best headline at the time. And, we posted our first video with it.
Got Sag? Researchers Want You - This story immediately set a record for number of page views. We think the headline lured people.
Please Don't Feed The Baptists Today - This is a very short story about Baptist students raising money for famine relief. But, the headline still makes us laugh.
Robin Becker: Zombies and Brains - The traditional question/answer format seems to be popular on our site so we have offered several. This one held the record for number of page views for several weeks.
Corliss Williamson is New UCA Coach - We were among the first in the state to report this story.
Tuition Hike to Hit 600 Students - This very short story caught us by surprise. UCA President Allen Meadors commented on it and ignited a journalistic fire storm. Our number of daily hits more than doubled for the rest of the week.
Free Cats - There are packs of feral cats on campus. Need we say more?
Tunnels Under Campus? It's true - We loved this story from the day we found a tunnel that had been exposed by the sidewalk construction around campus. Our readers loved it, too. It is the second most popular story we've published this semester.
