Cowboys Beat Bears, 12-8

The McNeese State Cowboys beat the Bears baseball team, 12-8, last night at Bear Stadium.

Senior pitcher Michael Wild took the loss for the Bears. Wild is now 2-5 on the season with a 5.51 ERA. Junior pitcher Dustin Lloyd took the win for McNeese State, giving him a 1-4 record on the season with a 6.14 ERA.

The Cowboys offense treated the Bears pitching staff as if they were throwing batting practice in a home run derby, going deep three times. Sophomore right fielder Lee Orr, senior third baseman Steven Irvine and senior first baseman Bryn Thompson all hit homers in the game for the Cowboys.

Tye Throneberry

Bears senior center fielder Tye Throneberry had a huge game for the Bears, going 3 for 4 and driving in five of the Bears eight runs with a double and two singles. Sophomore first baseman Blake Roberts also played well, going 3 for 5 from the plate.
