Are you ready to stomp the yard? Who are you with?
Get ready to mark your calendar for the 10th anniversary of the Atlanta Greek Picnic on June 4-8. Atlanta Greek Picnic was founded by entrepreneur Tiwa Works in the summer 2004. The picnic targets the “Divine Nine” of the National Pan-Hellenic Council (NPHC) in a weekend filled with networking events.
The weekend ranges from a career expo, meet and greet, 5k morning run, step shows, hotel pool parties, and the weekend will finish with the biggest Greek picnic on Earth.
Is ATL too hot to handle?
“We market this toward fraternities and sorority members first,” Works said in an interview with Black Enterprise magazine. “That’s our primary market, so at least we know that [a majority] of attendees are Greek. That helps keep it to where members are not going to step out beyond what other members have done before them. We’ve built it from 2004 to now, so you’re talking about neos (new members), prophytes (seasoned members) and college alumni who are coming to this event and your chapter members behave a certain way when they attend.”

If anticipation hasn’t sold you still, the biggest Greek picnic on Earth will. Thousands of NPHC members gather to network and participate in fellowship at Morris Brown College. The stage is set. Who will be crowned the 2014 stroll-off champion?
