Baseball Bears Crush Warhawks, 15-5
The Bears baseball team crushed the University of Louisiana-Monroe Warhawks, 15-5, last night at Bear Stadium.
The Bears scored 14 of their 15 runs during the first four innings of the game. The Bears started the game with a six-run first inning and knocked Warhawks pitcher Austin Young out of the game after pitching just two-thirds of an inning.
The Bears added another run in the second inning, five in the third, two in the fourth and their final run in the fifth inning.
Bears senior pitcher Bobby Pritchett took the win for the Bears, pitching four innings while giving up three runs on just four hits. Pritchett struck out seven Warhawks’ batters in just four innings. Pritchett is 3-1 on the season.
Senior center fielder Tye Throneberry and sophomore second baseman Jordan Getchell led the Bears with three hits each. Throneberry and sophomore first baseman Blake Roberts led the team with three RBIs each.
Warhawks shortstop Boomer Blanchard drove in four of the Warhawks' five runs on two singles.
