The Fountain is written and published by students in the Mass Communication and Theatre Department of the University of Central Arkansas as part of the school's online journalism program. The publication was launched Feb. 8, 2010, as a class project of MCOM 3346 to provide a platform for the students to apply the theories taught in the classroom.

Since the first semester of The Fountain, we have grown as a publication.  Our staff has changed, but our mission has not.  We are dedicated to bringing the students, faculty and staff the daily news of our campus. Although this is a new and experimental platform, we are committed to the solid journalistic values of fairness and truth.
